I’m a big fan of subscription gift companies, especially ones that get you active each month (and yes, I consider my monthly Flaviar hard liquor subscription an active one—you should see how I do it).
So Kiwi Crate, even though it’s technically for children, is right up my alley. It’s a monthly subscription service that sends a cool DIY craft kit to your kids every month. Each kit is different, and might have your kids doing anything from hunting for bugs and plants in the garden, to making a beautiful art piece, to being a dinosaur for the day, to learning the basics of lighting and electricity.
From what I’ve read and seen, it’s crazy cool. I highly recommend it for any kid (or kid at heart adult) in your life. You can also go onto their site and buy individual kits right off the bat (rather than waiting for a subscription), and they even have specific kits that are created for certain occasions, like birthday parties, rainy days, or princess tea parties.
