I personally have used the GrabTaxi app equivalent in the USA, which is Lyft. So while I’m doing a GrabTaxi USA review, it also applies to Lyft. The app is originally from Singapore.
In the USA, the Grab Taxi app works best if you download the Lyft app. You can use the code WNY to get $50 in Lyft credit.
Normally, when you use the Grab app to call a car, it actually connects with the Lyft app, and calls you a Lyft car. But you never need to leave the Grab app to do it!
Interestingly enough, the same thing works the other way around. If you usually use the Lyft app and travel to Singapore, you can call Grab taxis right from your Lyft app. Clever partnership if you ask me!
