The Eight Smart mattress is pretty unique in the mattress arena. Eight used to just make the Eight mattress cover, which you could slip onto any mattress and make it “smart”. But now they have their own complete mattress, which probably works even better.

If you’re wondering what a “smart” mattress is, you probably aren’t alone. It sounds a bit odd! But basically, the gist is that the mattress is monitoring your sleep patterns, and how that corresponds to the temperature in the room and in the bed. It speaks with your smart home’s temperature system (like Nest), and takes note of when you’re tossing and turning. Based on its analysis, it lowers the temperature in the room, or warms up the temperature of the bed (yes, it can do that!) so that you sleep comfortably and cozily—without getting too hot.
