Overnight Review

I love to travel, and because I love to travel I am always dealing with hotels and cars. I am also obsessed with the new On-Demand economy and iPhone apps. Lately I have been focusing on travel share apps and have found great ones like Airbnb, Turo, and Lyft. These apps make it so easy to travel to a new location and have a hassle-free time getting setup. I am very glad to be able to add Overnight too that list, as it fills a genre that I have been missing.

My girlfriend and I decided to drive down to LA on a spur of the moment trip. We had a great time, and decided it would be too much effort to make the long drive back up to San Fran the same evening. I looked around Airbnb, but couldn’t find anything that I thought was a good price. So we decided to try out the new app called Overnight.

Overnight does things a little bit different than your normal Airbnb style app. It takes the Airbnb model and mixes in some couch surfing. For those of you who don’t know what Couchsurfing is, you can read about it here. The basic gist of Couchsurfing that people offer their couches for you to crash on, no charge.

How the OverNight App works:

When you arrive at the area that you want to stay, you set a radius of how far you are willing to travel, 1, 3, or 10 miles. Press the button at the bottom of the app: Request a place here tonight.
